Contrary to popular peanut gallery opinion, Motherhood is not always sunshine and roses. I know, I know, I’ve probably shocked you but the hard truth is that mom’s are tough and resilient for a reason. We are expected to keep up with anything and everything while being pulled in all directions. Patience being the number one prerequisite is crucially necessary in order to get through the day with all your faculties intact. People think that stay at home mom’s have it particularly easy. What?! Are you kidding me? Staying home for your kids is a privilege that requires a strong woman…being a mom IS NOT for sissies. Don’t ever let anyone make you feel otherwise. Whether you work outside of the home or are a stay at home mom doesn’t matter. What does matter is that you are the best mom that you can be. That you are devoting yourself to train up your child in the way he should go. Truth be told you will probably come head to head with your children more times than you’d care to. You will need a source to draw strength from when that happens. Jesus is that source. He is the one you can always count on for a renewal of strength. Isaiah 40:31 always rings true whether you feel it or not. It can often be found in the tiny things often overlooked.
Tonight when it’s time for bed and those same crazy kids that ran you ragged during the day are begging you to stay…do it, those are refueling moments. Their hugs are like Jesus’ peace washing over you.
I pray that you feel renewed as you reflect upon the word of God and that you can find comfort in knowing you are not alone.

I used to love sitting on the bathroom floor and just listening to my young kids enjoy the bath – at the end of the day it really was a refuelling time! Thanks for the encouragement – it is valid today, with big kids around, as was with littlies.

Happy you were encouraged.
Those are moments to be cherished. I miss the bath-time fun too. I do find that as they’ve grown they still want to be tucked in. I kind of love it. 🙂 Thanks for stopping by.

People who think that being a stay at home mom is easy have clearly never been a mom! How right you are!
