Prayer, what does that mean?  Is it just a word?  Does it invoke a certain picture in your mind or feeling in your heart?  Whatever it is that you decide know this…prayer is power!  Believing is crucial.

At one point or another in our lives we all endure some trials or tragedies that have come about prompting the urge to pray and pray hard.  You never know what will happen and we can’t claim to know what God’s plans are for us or anyone else.  However, we can claim His promises in Matthew 18:20 “For where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them.” He said it…He promised to be there.  We are never alone.

Life is a constant battle and prayer is the weapon of a warrior.  At times I find myself getting so caught up in the mundane ins and outs of the day that I forget to offer up a word.  Then, when I realize it a sense of guilt overwhelms me but I felt God shake me and say those feelings of guilt are not from Him.  He doesn’t want me to feel that way.  As imperfect people we constantly find ways to accuse ourselves of being “less than” or just plain not good enough.

The truth is that God knows that we are right where we’re supposed to be.  If it’s suffering that we are enduring than praise God because he knows our limits and our potential.  Praise God because He believes in us SO much more than we could ever believe in ourselves.  What a beautiful truth.  My heart overflows with joy in the knowledge that I don’t have to have it all figured out because He already does.  Worrying just gets in the way.

It’s time to let go and let God do His thing.

To pray hands to the sky

I release

In the hope

And belief

That the one

Who’s divine

Knows that strength

I will find

Has a plan

For each day

Knowing well

I will say

Praise to God

I do give

For this life

That I live
